Lineup Grows for CMT Crossroads: Earth, Wind & Fire and Friends

The lineup has grown for the taping of CMT Crossroads: Earth, Wind & Fire and Friends in downtown Nashville tomorrow (6/6). Taking the outdoor stage with Earth, Wind & Fire will be newly added performers Dan + Shay, Darius Rucker, Drake White, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts and Sara Evans. These artists will join the previously announced act Lady Antebellum, who will also perform with the legendary R&B group on Wednesday (6/7) during the 2017 CMT Music Awards.

 

  • Fans are invited to attend Tuesday’s taping, which is being held on the corner of 5th and Demonbreun at 8:30 PM local time.
  • CMT Crossroads: Earth, Wind & Fire and Friendswill premiere June 23 at 10 PM ET on CMT.

February 6th: On This Day

On this day in 1998, Martina McBride picked up her second Platinum Album for Wild Angels. The album was her third and produced the singles “Safe in the Arms of Love”, “Wild Angels”, “Swingin’ Doors”, “Phones Are Ringin’ All Over Town”, and “Cry on the Shoulder of the Road”. “Wild Angels” was McBride’s first Number One on the Hot Country Songs charts.

In the U.S. the album was certified Gold on February 23, 1996, and Platinum on February 6, 1998, by the R.I.A.A.

More Legendary Performers Added To CMA Awards

The star power at the upcoming 50th Annual CMA Awards continues to grow with the addition of more legendary acts to the lineup.  Joining the star-studded lineup are 2016 Country Music Hall of Fame inductees Charlie Daniels and Randy Travis; former Entertainer of the Year winners Ricky Skaggs and Roy Clark and former CMA Awards host Clint Black. The new wave of performers also includes Jason Aldean, Chris Stapleton, Thomas Rhett, Jennifer Nettles, Martina McBride and Dwight Yoakam, as well as multi-format performers Elle King and Pentatonix.

 

·       These artists join previously announced performers Alabama, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves, Brad Paisley, Charley Pride, Reba, George Strait, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Garth Brooks with Trisha Yearwood.

·       The 50th Annual CMA Awards will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on November 2 at 8:00-PM ET on ABC.

October 11th: On This Day

Today in 2011, Martina McBride released her eleventh album, dubbed Eleven. The album produced three singles and would hit #4 on the US Billboard Top Country Albums chart at #10 on the US Billboard 200.

McBride herself rode on a train that left Los Angeles the day before the album was released and headed across the country with various stops to promote the new project.

September 30th: On This Day

On this day in 2003, Martina McBride released her seventh album, Martina. The album hit number one on the country album charts, and number seven on the US album charts. It produced four singles with “This One’s for the Girls”, “In My Daughter’s Eyes”, “How Far”, and “God’s Will”.

The album has since been Certified Double Platinum by the RIAA.

ACM Honors Performers Announced

Alicia Keys,Miranda Lambert,Chris Young, Dan + Shay and The Band Perry have been added to the list of performers for Tuesday (8/30) night’s 10th Annual ACM Honors.Also, Mike Fisher, Emmylou HarrisMartina McBride and Thomas Rhett will present at the ceremony taking place at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium.

 

·       Previously announced performers include Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Cam, Toby Keith, Maren Morris, Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell, Keith Urban and hosts Lady Antebellum.

·       The 10TH ACM Honors is an evening dedicated to celebrating the special honorees and off-camera category winners from the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards.

·       Hosted by multi-ACM Award-winning group Lady Antebellum, the two-hour special will tape on Tuesday, August 30 at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium, and make its television debut on September 9 on CBS.

June 24th: On This Day

On this day in 1999, Martina McBride nabbed a Double-Platinum album for Evolution. Evolution was McBride’s fourth album and produced three hits with “Happy Girl”, “A Broken Wing”, and “Valentine”. “Valentine” would be McBride’s first crossover hit. In 2001, the album became three-time Certified Platinum.

October 5th: On This Day

Today in 2010, the “All For The Hall” concert at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, benefiting the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum took place. Hosted by Keith Urban, it featured performances by Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and Country Music Hall-Of-Famer Dolly Parton.
