Iowa State Fair Grandstand Tickets Go on Sale This Friday

(DES MOINES, Iowa) – Country smash duo Florida Georgia Line brings their multi-platinum sound to the Iowa State Fair on the final night of the 2018 Fair, Sunday, August 19.

Florida Georgia Line joins already announced Grandstand Acts: Casting Crowns (August 9), Reba (August 10), Old Dominion (August 12), Jim Gaffigan (August 14), Earth, Wind & Fire (August 16), and Sugarland (August 17). Tickets for Florida Georgia Line (August 19) go on sale on Friday, March 9, at 10:00 AM.

Since their breakout in 2012, Florida Georgia Line has earned prestigious honors from the AMA, ACM, CMA, Billboard Music Awards and CMT Music Awards. The top-shelf entertainers continue to crush records as the first and only country act to achieve RIAA Diamond certification: 10 million copies sold for their breakout smash, “Cruise,” which is the best-selling digital country single of all time.

Brad Paisley Is Getting A Netflix Comedy Special

Brad Paisley is known as one of the funniest people in country music, so it comes as no surprise that he’s getting his own standup comedy special on Netflix this year. Titled Brad Paisley’s Comedy Rodeo, the new special will debut on August 15 and will include special appearances by Reba and actor David Hasselhoff. Brad announced his Netflix special on social media Friday (6/23), joining Hasselhoff on the hood of his iconic car, KITT, from the 1980’s TV series, Knight Rider. The video can be seen here.

 

  • Brad Paisley’s Comedy Rodeo was filmed earlier this year when Paisley hosted comedy shows at Nashville’s Zanies Comedy Club as part of the Wild West Comedy Festival.

Presenters Revealed for CMT Music Awards

The list of presenters at the 2017 CMT Music Awards has been revealed and includes top country stars as well as a few big name actors. From the Hollywood side, the presenters will include actors such as Ashton Kutcher, Jada Pinkett Smith, Danny Masterson and Big Bang Theory’s Johnny Galecki, while the music side includes presenters such as Reba, RaeLynn and Dustin Lynch.

 

  • The 2017 CMT Music Awards premieres tonight (6/7) at 8 PM ET live from Nashville’s Music City Center.

ACM’s Special Award Winners Announced

The list of Special Award winners at the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards has been announced and includes George Strait, Dolly Parton, Kelsea Ballerini, Reba, Eric Church, Toby Keith, Willie Nelson and more. Honorees will be celebrated during the 11th annual ACM Honors ceremony, which will be held at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium on August 23. The event will then be broadcast at a later date on CBS.

 

  • Strait has been chosen to receive the Cliffie Stone Icon Award.
  • Parton will receive the Gary Haber Lifting Lives Award.
  • Ballerini will be the recipient of the Gene Weed Milestone Award.
  • Reba has been chosen as one of the recipients of the Mae Boren Axton Service Award.
  • Church will receive the Merle Haggard Spirit Award.
  • Keith and Nelson are among those chosen to receive the Poet’s Award.

Carrie Underwood Heading to Oklahoma Hall of Fame

Carrie Underwood will be inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame as part of their Class of 2017. The Checotah native will be honored by her home state during an induction ceremony in Oklahoma City on November 16, which will be emceed by past Oklahoma Hall of Fame inductees Vince Gill and Kristin Chenoweth. Underwood joins previously-inducted country stars such as Toby Keith, Reba, Blake Shelton and more.

 

  • Carrie says, “I’ve always been proud to say I’m from Oklahoma. The people, culture, and environment molded me into the person I am today. It’s such an honor to be recognized among such great company by the Oklahoma Hall of Fame!”
  • In addition to being honored at the formal induction ceremony, the 2017 Honorees will also have their portraits unveiled at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum, home of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

May 16th: On This Day

On this day in 1989, Reba McEntire’s Greatest Hits became the singer’s first platinum album. The album covered Reba’s hit singles from 1984 through 1986. No new material was recorded for the album.

Greatest Hits peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums chart and at No. 134 on the Billboard 200.

The album has since been Certified Triple Platinum by the RIAA.

ABC is Not Moving Forward With Reba’s New Series

ABC has decided not to move forward with Reba’s new television drama Red Blooded, according to Deadline. But while the show’s pilot won’t see the light of day on ABC, there are still rumors that the series is being shopped around to different networks such as Lifetime or CMT. In the show, Reba was set to play a small-town Kentucky sheriff who finds her views challenged when a young FBI agent of Middle Eastern descent comes to town to help with an investigation.

BREAKING: CMT Music Awards Nominees Announced

Brett Eldredge appeared on NBC’s Today show on Tuesday (5/9) to help announce the nominees for the 2017 CMT Music Awards. Keslea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett and Keith Urban lead this year’s pack with four nominations apiece, while Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, Lauren Alaina and Luke Bryan follow closely behind with three nods each. Hosted this year by Nashville star Charles Esten, the CMT Music Awards will take place live from Nashville on June 7 at 8 PM ET.

 

  • Due to the Nashville Predators advancing in the NHL Playoffs, this year’s CMT Music Awards has been moved from the Bridgestone Arena to the Music City Center across the street.
  • Blake Shelton, Brett Eldredge, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert and Thomas Rhett were recently revealed as performers at the show, with additional acts set to be announced soon.
  • Fan voting is currently underway at CMT.com and continues until June 5.

Ronnie Dunn Delivers Airstream One to Reba

After spending more than a year restoring a vintage Airstream trailer as a gift for Reba, Ronnie Dunn has finally delivered the finished product to her. Ronnie recently took to Instagram to share a picture of Reba standing in front of her newly-renovated 1988 Excello trailer along with the caption, “@Airstream 1 delivered to @Reba.” Dunn then shared pictures of the trailer’s fully-finished rustic interior, revealing that no expense was spared on Reba’s new home on wheels.

 

March 31st: On This Day

On this day in 1997, Reba McEntire’s “How Was I To Know” was at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.  The song was released as the second single from the album What If It’s You.

“How Was I To Know” was on the top of the chart for one week, before being succeeded by “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing” by Trace Adkins.
