Tim McGraw, Faith Hill Sign New Deals With Sony Music

Billboard has reported that Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have signed new deals with Sony Music Entertainment.

Billboard announced that the couples deals with Sony are individual deals and call for multiple solo albums from each of them. It’s unclear if the projects on the table might include a joint album between the two.

McGraw was most recently signed to Big Machine, where he released his current album, Damn Country Music, in 2015. One of the singles from that album, “Humble and Kind,” took home Best Country Song honors for songwriter Lori McKenna at the 2017 Grammy Awards on Sunday night (Feb. 12).

Hill was previously signed to Warner Bros., where she released her last full studio album of new material, Fireflies, in 2005. In November of last year, she released Deep Tracks, a compilation of album cuts from previous albums that fulfilled her contractual obligations to the label.

McGraw and Hill have a new duet titled “Keep Your Eyes on Me” on the soundtrack to McGraw’s upcoming film, The Shack, which is set for theatrical release in March. The soundtrack is due on February 24th.

Maren Morris Says Writing For Tim McGraw Was Validation

Maren Morris’ debut single, “My Church,” may have been the song that introduced her voice to the world, but it was another tune that Maren credits as changing her life. Early in her songwriting career in Nashville, Maren teamed up with fellow musician (now-boyfriend) Ryan Hurd to pen a song titled “Last Turn Home.” The song found its way onto Tim McGraw’s 2014 album, Sundown Heaven Town, and Morris says that moment helped solidify her as a songwriter in town.  Maren tells People, “To have Tim be the first person to ever cut one of my songs was just the purest form of validation.”

·       But Maren also admits that she couldn’t remain purely a songwriter for long; there was an itch to make her own music, too. She says, “I missed being onstage behind the microphone. After a while it was hard to hear another voice singing my lyrics.”

Tim McGraw And Faith Hill Pen Original Song For The Shack

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have written and recorded an original song for McGraw’s upcoming motion picture, The Shack. The couple’s new duet is titled “Keep Your Eyes on Me” and can be heard in the film’s first trailer, which premiered last week. The song is featured on the film’s official soundtrack, which also includes new songs from Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley and Brett Eldredge.

The new film is based on the William P. Young novel of same name and also stars Octavia Spencer, Sam Worthington and Graham Greene. The film will be released in theaters on March 3, 2017.
