Brad Paisley’s Mother-In-Law Passes Away

Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley are grieving the loss of Kimberly’s mother, Linda, who passed away on November 16 after a lengthy battle with dementia. She was 73 years old. Kimberly confirmed the sad news on social media last week, posting a picture of her mother smiling along with the touching message, “I will remember you this way, Mom. Rest in love and peace.” Brad soon took to Twitter to thank everyone for their condolences, saying the family was touched by the outpouring of sympathy for Kimberly’s mother. Paisley then said, “After her long battle with this terrible disease, she is free.”

Presenters Announced For CMA Awards

The list of presenters during the 50th Annual CMA Awards will feature some of the biggest country stars from past and present as well as huge celebrities from both the sports and acting worlds. From the country realm, presenters will include Country Music Hall of Famers Bill Anderson, Brenda Lee, Barbara Mandrell and The Oak Ridge Boys, as well as Lee Greenwood, Olivia Newton-John, Cam and Cole Swindell. Presenters from the sports world will include “Final Five” Olympic gymnasts Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, Madison Kocian, and Aly Raisman, NFL great Peyton Manning, as well as ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit and Samantha Ponder. Presenters from the acting side will include Matthew McConaughey, Sharon Stone, Jennifer Garner, Lily Tomlin, Josh Dallas, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Hayley Orrantia.

Brad Paisley celebrates his 44th Birthday today.

Paisley was born in 1972, in Glen Dale, West Virginia to Doug Paisley, a worker for the West Virginia DoT, and Sandy Paisley a teacher.

After high school, Paisley went to college and interned at ASCAP, Atlantic Records, and Fitzgerald-Hartley Management Firm. During this time Paisley would meet many people who would help his career.

Within a week of graduating college, Paisley signed a songwriting contract with EMI Music Publishing.

In 1999, he made his debut as a singer on the label Arista Nashville, with the song “Who Needs Pictures”. The rest is history.

More Legendary Performers Added To CMA Awards

The star power at the upcoming 50th Annual CMA Awards continues to grow with the addition of more legendary acts to the lineup.  Joining the star-studded lineup are 2016 Country Music Hall of Fame inductees Charlie Daniels and Randy Travis; former Entertainer of the Year winners Ricky Skaggs and Roy Clark and former CMA Awards host Clint Black. The new wave of performers also includes Jason Aldean, Chris Stapleton, Thomas Rhett, Jennifer Nettles, Martina McBride and Dwight Yoakam, as well as multi-format performers Elle King and Pentatonix.

 

·       These artists join previously announced performers Alabama, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves, Brad Paisley, Charley Pride, Reba, George Strait, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Garth Brooks with Trisha Yearwood.

Brad Paisley’s New Single Has A Big Debut

Brad Paisley’s new single, “Today,” and its emotional video, have struck a chord with fans across the world.  The video quickly went viral after its release, garnering more than 25 million views and 500,000 shares of Facebook during its first week out. Fans also continue to share sentimental posts on Brad’s Facebook page, such as wedding proposals, baby announcements, and military returns.

 

·         Paisley’s says he’s floored by the fans’ overwhelming response to song. Brad says, “I have seen and read the posts and I’m thrilled that the song and video is touching a chord with so many. ‘Today’ means a lot to me and I’m glad it’s a favorite of so many so soon.”

·         The news of the song’s big response comes as “Today” also becomes Paisley’s first #1 on Billboard’s Country Digital Song sales chart.

·         The song accumulated 41,000 downloads in its debut week and jumped from #49 to #12 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs following its first full week of tracking.

More performers have been added to The 50th Annual CMA Awards, including Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Kacey Musgraves and Garth Brooks with Trisha Yearwood. These artists join previously announced performers Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Maren Morris, Keith Urban, as well as co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. The show’s Golden Anniversary will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on November 2 at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.

Chris Young Reveals Christmas Album Track Listing

Chris Young has revealed the track listing for his new holiday album, It Must Be Christmas, confirming the all-star collaborations he hinted at last week. The album features a special guest appearance by Alan Jackson on “There’s A New Kid In Town,” a song that originally appeared on Jackson’s 1993 Christmas album, Honky Tonk Christmas, as a duet with Keith Whitley.  The record also features Chris teaming up with Brad Paisley for a rendition of “The First Noel,” with soul trio Boyz II Men lending their voices to another Christmas classic: “Silent Night.”

 

·       In addition, Young co-wrote two original songs for the album — “Under The Weather” and the title track “It Must Be Christmas.”

·       It Must Be Christmas will be released on October 14.

On this day in 2007, Brad Paisley’s fifth studio album, 5th Gear, was Certified Gold. The album debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart, and produced five #1’s with “Ticks”, “I’m Still a Guy”, “Online”, “Letter to Me”, and “Waitin’ on a Woman”.

5th Gear has since been Certified Platinum by the RIAA.
