On this day in 2011, Brad Paisley’s duet, “Remind Me,” with Carrie Underwood sat in the top spot on both the Billboard and Country Aircheck country airplay charts. “Remind Me” also won ACA & CMT award for Collaborative Music Video of the Year.

The song would go on to be certified 2× Platinum.

On this day in 2014, Arista released Brad Paisley’s tenth studio album, Moonshine in the Trunk. The album produced four singles with “River Bank”, “Crushin’ It”, “Country Nation”, and “Perfect Storm”, which went number one on the US Airplay charts.

Moonshine in the Trunk was Paisley’s eighth album to hit number one on Billboard’s Country chart.

On this day in 2005, Brad Paisley released his fourth album, Time Well Wasted. The album produced three #1 hits with “When I Get Where I’m Going”, “The World”, and “She’s Everything”. The CMA would name Time Well Wasted the 2006 Album of the Year.

Paisley’s album has since gone Double Platinum.

Brad Paisley And Carrie Underwood Will Host 50th Annual CMA Awards

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will return to host the 50th Annual CMA Awards this November, marking the pair’s ninth consecutive year as co-hosts of the ceremony. Country music’s biggest night will return for its golden anniversary on November 2nd when it airs live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena at 7:00 pm on ABC.

Country Musicians React To Merle Haggard’s Passing

Several country musicians released statements and took to social media to react to Merle Haggard’s death on Wednesday (4/6).

Willie Nelson: “He was my brother, my friend. I will miss him.”

Luke Bryan: “A true hero was lost today. Thank you for your contribution to not only country music but all music. @MERLEHAGGARD”

Carrie Underwood: “Love and prayers for the Haggard family. Merle was a pioneer…A true entertainer… A legend. There will never be another like him.”

Brad Paisley: “There are no words to describe the loss & sorrow felt within all of music with the passing of Merle Haggard. Thank god for his life & songs.”

Dolly Parton: “We’ve lost one of the greatest writers and singers of all time. His heart was as tender as his love ballads. I loved him like a brother. Rest easy, Merle.”

Brad Paisley made a surprise visit to the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday Night (1/2) to honor one of his best friends, Opry star Little Jimmy Dickens. Paisley’s visit marked the one-year anniversary of Dickens’ death on January 2nd, 2015 at the age of 94. Paisley sang some of Dickens’ best known tunes.
