Morgan Evans Signs with Warner Music Nashville

Australian singer-songwriter Morgan Evans has signed a record deal with Warner Music Nashville, meaning he’ll likely get to spend more time in Nashville with his famous fiancée, Kelsea Ballerini. To celebrate his new record deal, Evans recorded a mashup of his favorite songs by Warner Music Nashville artists, including Blake Shelton, Brett Eldredge, Cole Swindell and Dan + Shay. Morgan, who has a duet with Ballerini on her forthcoming album, is currently in the studio working on new music with songwriter/producer Chris DeStefano.

Evans will celebrate his first U.S. record deal by playing a show at the Grand Ole Opry on Friday (5/19) followed by a performance on Saturday (5/20) at Nashville’s iconic Bluebird Café.
Kelsea tweeted after her fiancé’s deal was announced, “Couldn’t be more happy or proud of this human. So patient, so humble, SO talented. Excited to ride the roller coaster with you babe.”
Before his new U.S. deal, Morgan had been signed to Warner Music Australia since 2012.

Thomas Rhett and Kelsea Ballerini Hosting CMA Music Festival Special

After hitting the road together all year on the “Home Team Tour,” Thomas Rhett and Kelsea Ballerini will soon join forces again to co-host the 2017 CMA Music Festival special on ABC. Rhett is returning as host for a second straight year, while Kelsea steps in for last year’s co-host, Brett Eldredge. The three-hour special will bring highlights from the annual festival to a national television audience and will air at a date later in the year. This year’s CMA Music Festival will take place on June 8-11 in downtown Nashville.

· Kelsea and Thomas are also slated to perform on the Nissan Stadium stage this year, joining acts such as Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Brett Eldredge, Florida Georgia Line, Sam Hunt, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and many more.

· Kelsea took to Instagram after Thursday’s (4/20) announcement to say, “News is out! Not only do I get to play, I get to HOST CMA Fest with my brother @thomasrhettakins this summer. Gonna be funnnnn. Who will we see there??”

The Nightly Concert lineup at Nissan Stadium during CMA Music Festival was revealed this morning (3/17) on ABC’s Good Morning America. Additional details and performers have been announced for the 5th Annual ACM Party for a Cause festival in Las Vegas on March 30 – April 2. Held in conjunction with the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards on April 2, the four-day festival will consist of a variety of events at different venues across Sin City and will feature performances by more than 50 country acts, including Kelsea Ballerini, Chris Stapleton, Dan + Shay, Lady Antebellum and more. In a message posted on Instagram, Kelsea explained that after spending the last month being inspired by the beauty of what she’s seen while traveling, she wants to spend every second that she’s home making the best music she can for her fans . Ballerini said, “My creativity and inspiration are bursting at the seams as I head home to Nashville, and for the next 2 weeks I’m going to dive into that and see what I can find. So, as I create, write, and finish my record, I’m going to take a little break from social media.”

Shania Twain Will Receive Billboard’s Icon Award

Shania Twain will receive the 2016 Women in Music “Icon” award during Billboard’s 11th annual Women in Music event later this year. The award is presented to artists whose contributions to the music industry put them among the highest class of performers. Billboard’s annual Women in Music event will be held in New York City on December 9 and will air nationally on Lifetime on December 12.

· Singer-songwriter Halsey will be presented with this year’s Women in Music “Rising Star” award, while Madonna will receive the 2016 Woman of the Year award.

· During last year’s ceremony, Kelsea Ballerini was honored with the “Rising Star” Award and Loretta Lynn received the “Legend” award.
