ACM Honors Performers Announced

Alicia Keys,Miranda Lambert,Chris Young, Dan + Shay and The Band Perry have been added to the list of performers for Tuesday (8/30) night’s 10th Annual ACM Honors.Also, Mike Fisher, Emmylou HarrisMartina McBride and Thomas Rhett will present at the ceremony taking place at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium.

 

·       Previously announced performers include Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Cam, Toby Keith, Maren Morris, Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell, Keith Urban and hosts Lady Antebellum.

·       The 10TH ACM Honors is an evening dedicated to celebrating the special honorees and off-camera category winners from the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards.

·       Hosted by multi-ACM Award-winning group Lady Antebellum, the two-hour special will tape on Tuesday, August 30 at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium, and make its television debut on September 9 on CBS.

August 23rd: On This Day

On this day in 2002, Toby Keith’s seventh studio album, Unleashed, began it’s fourth week at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart. The album produced three #1’s “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)”, “Who’s Your Daddy?”, and “Beer for My Horses.”

The album would go on to be Certified 4x Multi-Platinum.

Toby Keith’s “Lucky 13” Golf Classic Raises Big Money

The 13th Annual Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic was a huge success, raising nearly $1.2 million for The Toby Keith Foundation and its work with OK Kids Korral, a cost-free home-away-from-home for pediatric cancer patients and their families. This year’s event — nicknamed “Lucky 13” by its namesake –included not only the celebrity golf tournament but also a gala and dinner headlined by Asleep At The Wheel and an auction that a featured a rare signed album by Elvis Presley, among other items. The annual event was held in Keith’s hometown of Norman, Oklahoma, on June 3-4.

June 7th: On This Day

On this day in 1993, Toby Keith scored his very first #1 song with “Should’ve Been A Cowboy.” The first of his twenty number one  hits, “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” was the lead-off single from Keith’s self-titled debut album Toby Keith. The song would become Certified Gold and with over three million spins on country radio, is the most played country song of the 1990s.

May 20th: On This Day

On this day in 2014, CBS aired “ACM Presents: An All-Star Salute To The Troops” with George Strait, Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Toby Keith, Lee Brice, Dierks Bentley and Merle Haggard.  The ACM would later announce that a $650,000 contribution to ACM Lifting Lives, was made on behalf of the artists who participated in the taping.
