April 28th: On This Day

On this day in 2001, Brooks & Dunn began a six-week romp at #1 on the Billboard US Hot Country Songs chart with “Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You”. The song was released as the first single from their album Steers & Stripes.

“Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You” was nominated by the Country Music Association for Single of the Year, and eventually ranked as the Billboard US Hot Country Songs chart’s No. 1 song of 2001.

Ronnie Dunn Delivers Airstream One to Reba

After spending more than a year restoring a vintage Airstream trailer as a gift for Reba, Ronnie Dunn has finally delivered the finished product to her. Ronnie recently took to Instagram to share a picture of Reba standing in front of her newly-renovated 1988 Excello trailer along with the caption, “@Airstream 1 delivered to @Reba.” Dunn then shared pictures of the trailer’s fully-finished rustic interior, revealing that no expense was spared on Reba’s new home on wheels.

 

February 28th: On This Day

On this day in 2002, Kix Brooks & Ronnie Dunn were surprised with the Humanitarian Award at the Annual Country Radio Seminar in Nashville.

The duo were given the award for  performing at countless benefit concerts, their involvement with the Red Cross flood relief efforts in St. Louis, Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, and other charitable organizations.

May 12th: On This Day

On this day in 1955, Kix Brooks was born. After working on pipelines in Alaska and attending college, his father urged him to pursue his dream of country music. Kix moved to Nashville in the early 80’s and began work as a songwriter. He would write hits for others, but couldn’t find success with his own album, Kix Brooks.

After the failure of his debut album, Kix teamed up with Ronnie Dunn to create Brooks & Dunn. The duo has released fifty singles, of which twenty went number one.  The duo has also won CMA’s, 26 ACMA’s and 2 Grammy Awards.

New CMA Songwriters Episodes to feature Darius Rucker, Brett Eldredge

The Front And Center Television Series will film two brand-new episodes of the CMA Songwriters Series on Monday, August 24th at Marathon Music Works in Nashville. The first episode will feature Darius Rucker and Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley. A second episode will feature Brett Eldredge and Ronnie Dunn.
