Fight Muscular Dystrophy with Team Dalton

On Wednesday, March 7, join Dalton Showers at the Oskaloosa Fairgrounds inside of the DVA building from 11 AM – 6 PM to help end muscular dystrophy. Dalton is a 15-year-old that suffers from muscular dystrophy, specifically CMT. His goal is to raise $500 to help end muscular dystrophy and all proceeds will go to Team Dalton. There will a bake sale, a 50/50 raffle, pork sandwiches and chips. There will be signs directing towards the building.

Collaborations Announced for CMT Music Awards

Several all-star collaborations have been announced for the upcoming 2017 CMT Music Awards, including cross-genre pairings from Florida Georgia Line with The Chainsmokers as well as Lady Antebellum with the legendary Earth, Wind & Fire. The night will also include superstars Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood performing live together for the first time on any CMT stage.

 

·         These acts will join previously announced performers Blake Shelton, Brett Eldredge, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert and Thomas Rhett from Nashville’s Music City Center on June 7 at 8 PM ET. Additional performers will be announced soon.

BREAKING: CMT Music Awards Nominees Announced

Brett Eldredge appeared on NBC’s Today show on Tuesday (5/9) to help announce the nominees for the 2017 CMT Music Awards. Keslea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett and Keith Urban lead this year’s pack with four nominations apiece, while Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, Lauren Alaina and Luke Bryan follow closely behind with three nods each. Hosted this year by Nashville star Charles Esten, the CMT Music Awards will take place live from Nashville on June 7 at 8 PM ET.

 

  • Due to the Nashville Predators advancing in the NHL Playoffs, this year’s CMT Music Awards has been moved from the Bridgestone Arena to the Music City Center across the street.
  • Blake Shelton, Brett Eldredge, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert and Thomas Rhett were recently revealed as performers at the show, with additional acts set to be announced soon.
  • Fan voting is currently underway at CMT.com and continues until June 5.

Stars Shine At The CMT Artists Of The Year Ceremony

Country’s biggest stars were in Nashville on Wednesday night (10/19) for the annual CMT Artists of the Year special. The ceremony was held at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center, where the night’s honorees Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line, Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Bryan, Shania Twain and Thomas Rhett were celebrated with special performances and presentations. The special premiered last night (10/20) on CMT.

 

Highlights of the ceremony included:

 

Shania Twain was presented with the biggest honor of the night; the award for “CMT Artist of a Lifetime.” Pop star Meghan Trainor and R&B singer Jill Scott were on hand to honor Shania, joining Kelsea Ballerini for a cross-genre medley of Twain’s iconic hits “Still the One,” “Any Man of Mine” and “Man, I Feel Like A Woman.” A clip of that performance can be seen here.

 

Kelsea Ballerini was also the recipient of the second “Breakout Artist of the Year” honor. After Kelsea’s Greatest Hits co-hostArsenio Hall presented her with the award, she thanked CMT for their continued support of female artists and dedicated the award to her grandfather, who passed earlier that day. Ballerini also gave a performance of “Peter Pan,” which can be seen here.

 

–Little Big Town presented Luke Bryan with his fifth “CMT Artists of the Year” honor durng the ceremony.  During theirpresentation, LBT poked fun at Bryan by unveiling a tiny training bicycle on stage in reference to Luke’s recent bike accident. Bryan and Karen Fairchild also took the stage to perform their chart-topping duet “Home Alone Tonight.”

 

–Thomas Rhett accepted his first-ever “CMT Artists of the Year” honor, thanking his friends and co-honorees, Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan, for their influence and support, and for paving the way for him. Rhett also teamed up pop star Zara Larssonfor a mashup of his hit “Die A Happy Man,” followed by her song “Never Forget You.” A clip of that performance can be seen here.

 

–As Chris Stapleton accepted his Artist of the Year honor, he recalled being on the same stage two years ago to perform his fellow honoree Luke Bryan’s hit “Drink A Beer.” Stapleton also performed his hit song “Whiskey and You.” The performance can be seenhere.

 

–Honoree Carrie Underwood gave a performance of her song “Like I’ll Never Love You Again,” backed by co-writers The Love Junkies. During her acceptance speech, Underwood got emotional after seeing a video of her son Isaiah on the screen. Her speech can be seen here.

 

–Honorees Florida Georgia Line kicked off the show with their current single, “May We All.” Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard’sacceptance speech can be seen here.

July 1st: On This Day

On this day in 2013, Billy Currington’s “Hey Girl” video debuted on CMT. The song was released as the first single for his fifth studio album We Are Tonight. The song was Certified Platinum by the RIAA and hit number one on the Billboard US Country Airplay chart.

The “Hey Girl” video on YouTube currently has over 10,00,000 views.

CMT Announces New Category For CMT Music Awards

CMT has announced the brand new #SOCIALSUPERSTAR Category at the upcoming 2016 CMT Music Awards. The nominees for the inaugural #SOCIALSUPERSTAR award are Brett Eldredge, Blake Shelton, Jake Owen, Kelsea Ballerini, Lindsay Ell and Thomas Rhett.

Justin Moore has debuted a the brand-new video for his current single, “You Look Like I Need A Drink.” The video premiered exclusively on justinmoore.cmt.com and CMT Hot 20 Countdown over the weekend. It was shot in Los Angeles and features Justin living out all of his Western fantasies.
