Jake Owen Receives The Arnie Award in California

Jake Owen was presented with the prestigious Arnie Award on Tuesday night (2/7) as part of Golf Digest’s annual “Golfers Who Give Back” event during the Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament in California. NFL great Peyton Manning and champion golfer Phil Mickelson joined Jake as recipients of the prestigious award, which is named after the late golfing legend Arnold Palmer. Owen’s parents, Steve and Mitzi Owen, were also in the audience for Tuesday night’s ceremony.

 

·         Owen got a little emotional after legendary sports broadcaster Jim Nantz called him to the stage to accept to the award. Jake said, “I don’t do things for awards, but this is by far the most humbling think I could ever achieve.”

·         Jake also opened up about what the Arnie Award means to him in a lengthy message on Instagram.

 

Backstreet Boys And Nelly Join Florida Georgia Line In Nashville

It was a night full of surprises when Florida Georgia Line played a sold-out show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Thursday night (10/13). Midway through FGL’s set, the Backstreet Boys made a surprise appearance and performed their hit “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” for the screaming crowd. The ’90s boy band then joined FGL on “God, Your Mama, and Me,” their collaborative song from the duo’s Dig Your Roots album. And, the surprises kept coming, with Jake Owen taking the stage later in the set to help the duo perform “Sun Daze.” Then, during their encore, FGL introduced Nelly to the stage and the three performed a medley of the rapper’s hits as well as their collaborative rendition of “Cruise.”

Jake Owen Returns To Chart’s Summit

Jake Owen’s single “American Country Love Song” sits atop the country charts this week, giving Jake his sixth career #1 song. Jake says this chart-topper is the culmination of a journey that started when he took his “Love Bus” Road Trip to Key West, Florida, earlier this year. Owen says, “It really was a life changing time for me. Now, to see this song go all the way to #1 this week is just a great way to end the summer. Let’s raise a glass!”

 

·       “American Country Love Song” sits at #1 on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Country Aircheck Mediabase charts.

American Love Debuts At #1- Jake Owen

Jake Owen’s new album, American Love, has debuted atop the Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, selling roughly 29,000 copies in its first week out. The album also notched the #4 spot on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, giving Owen his highest charting album on that chart. Jake said reacting to the news, “That’s a first for me and I’m so pumped about that. I poured my heart and soul into making this album and I’m thrilled to know that people like it. We are forging ahead on this great journey. I love that so many people are on this path with me.”

 

·       Jake’s new album hits #1 as its lead single, “American Country Love Song,” sits at #6 on the charts this week.

Jake Owen Recruits Fan For A Spontaneous Road Trip

One lucky Jake Owen fan will have an experience of a lifetime this weekend thanks to Twitter. Jake took to social media yesterday afternoon (7/8) to recruit one of his followers for a spur of the moment road trip with him, and David West of Smyrna, Tennessee, was the fan lucky enough to get picked. Owen initially tweeted, “Anyone wanna take spontaneous road trip??… Like a right now, drop everything, only live once kind of trip. Let’s go.” To which West replied, “@jakeowen where we going?” Jake then told David that he and a buddy could accompany him on his tour bus this weekend as they drive to the Hodag Country Music Festival in Wisconsin.

· Owen filmed his phone conversation with West in a Facebook Live video, which was shot during a meeting with members of his record label in Nashville.
· Owen also told West to bring the “sweet” clothes iron that appears in his Twitter profile picture.

CMT Announces New Category For CMT Music Awards

CMT has announced the brand new #SOCIALSUPERSTAR Category at the upcoming 2016 CMT Music Awards. The nominees for the inaugural #SOCIALSUPERSTAR award are Brett Eldredge, Blake Shelton, Jake Owen, Kelsea Ballerini, Lindsay Ell and Thomas Rhett.
