Performers Announced For 10th Annual ACM Honors

The list of performers for the 10th Annual ACM Honorsceremony has just been announced, with Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Cam, Maren Morris, Cole Swindell, Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum all set to take the stage. Lady A will host the two-hour ceremony, which will be held at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium on August 30. The special will also make its television debut on September 9 at 9:00 PM ET on CBS.

 

·         ACM Honors is an evening celebrating the special honorees and off-camera category winners from the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards. Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town, Urban and Glen Campbell are among the Special Award winners at this year’s ceremony.

 

Carrie Underwood’s “Church Bells” Tops The Charts

Carrie Underwood’s single “Church Bells” tops the Billboard and Mediabase Country charts this week, giving Carrie her 24th career #1 song. “Church Bells” also achieved international success, spending two weeks at #1 on Canada’s Mediabase Country Airplay chart and three weeks at #1 on Australia’s Country Airplay chart.

 

The CMA Music Festival Lineup Has Been Revealed

The lineup has been revealed for CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock. The show will feature solo performances by Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Rascal Flatts, Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton, Chris Stapleton, Cole Swindell, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and more. Brett Eldredge and Thomas Rhett will co-host the special, which will air on August 3rd at 7:00 pm on ABC.

Carrie Underwood Changing Her Tune For Sunday Night Football

Carrie Underwood will be singing a different tune when she returns for NBC’s telecast of Sunday Night Football (SNF) this fall. Underwood has recorded a new opening theme song for SNF titled “Oh, Sunday Night,” which is set to the music of “Somethin’ Bad” Carrie’s duet with Miranda Lambert.

Carrie Underwood Opens Up About Her Time On American Idol

Being a contestant on American Idol more than 10 years ago put Carrie Underwood up for a lot of criticism from online bullies. Carrie tells US Weekly she was a little heavier than she is now during her time on American Idol, “That was the first time I was exposed to the public talking about me, so it was impossible not to look and see what they were saying. Apparently I was fat. Of course I wasn’t, but sometimes words people chose are not the nicest.”

Brad Paisley And Carrie Underwood Will Host 50th Annual CMA Awards

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will return to host the 50th Annual CMA Awards this November, marking the pair’s ninth consecutive year as co-hosts of the ceremony. Country music’s biggest night will return for its golden anniversary on November 2nd when it airs live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena at 7:00 pm on ABC.

On this day in 2014, CBS aired “ACM Presents: An All-Star Salute To The Troops” with George Strait, Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Toby Keith, Lee Brice, Dierks Bentley and Merle Haggard.  The ACM would later announce that a $650,000 contribution to ACM Lifting Lives, was made on behalf of the artists who participated in the taping.

How Keith Urban Got Carrie Underwood To Be Part Of “The Fighter”

When Keith Urban asked Carrie Underwood to be a part of his song “The Fighter,” she was already involved in her “Storyteller Tour” and had little free time. She told Urban that she had a day off in St. Louis that would be her last free day before he had to finish  his Ripcord album. While Keith was filming his latest video that day, he flew the song’s co-writer Busbee to St. Louis, got a studio and was in there with Carrie.
