Aside from earning the coveted Favorite Album award for his latest record, If I’m Honest, Shelton also took home his second consecutive trophy for Favorite Male Country Artist.

·         Reacting to his historic win, Blake said, “I could not be more thankful. All I’ve ever wanted to do is sing country music, so to win Favorite Male Country Artist is incredible. And to be the first country artist to ever win Favorite Album is beyond words.”

Carrie Underwood Reveals Plans For 2017

After a huge year that included the continued success of her Storyteller album and tour, Carrie Underwood admits that her 2017 is actually shaping up to be pretty relaxed. While on the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday (1/8), Underwood told E! News’Ryan Seacrest about her plans for the coming year, saying, “I think I’m gonna enjoy a little time with my family and then start writing, maybe, and just seeing what I’m ready to do. I don’t know. There’s no real plans.”

·       But there is one specific thing Underwood wants to do more of this year: clean her house. Underwood says, “I feel like my house is a wreck, so I’m like, I’ve got to get this in order. Being home off the road, every time we go home for a little short 24, 48-hour stints, I just drop stuff off and leave again. And now I’m trying to make sense of life.”

On Wednesday night (11/16), while in Tampa, Florida, for a stop on her “Storyteller Tour,” Carrie posted a black-and-white photo on Instagram that showed her son Isaiah sitting on her lap as she got ready in front of a mirror.

·       Carrie said in the caption for the adorable picture, “He doesn’t care that Mommy had to get ready for a show…all he knows is that he woke up cranky from his nap and needed a cuddle…and I was more than happy to comply.”

·       The “Storyteller Tour” will pick back up next week with shows in Wichita, Kansas, on November 22 and Oklahoma City on November 23.

Breaking: Crystal Gayle Will Become The Next Opry Member

During her Grand Ole Opry performance on Tuesday night (11/15), Crystal Gayle was surprised by Carrie Underwood with an invitation to become an official Opry member. Underwood surprised the sold-out crowd at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium by joining Gayle on her hit “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue.” Moments after they finished the duet, Carrie turned to Crystal and said, “You are an inspiration to so many of us. You are important to country music, and you are important to the Opry, which is why I was asked tonight to ask you if you would like to join our Opry family officially.” Gayle then accepted the invitation with a hug and said “I have always felt like I was a member of the family and this is just so special.”

·         Gayle will be formally inducted into the Opry on January 21, 2017 by her sister, country legend Loretta Lynn.

·         Gayle made her Opry debut nearly 50 years ago on the Ryman stage, singing the classic “Ribbon of Darkness” at the age of 16.
