ABC has decided not to move forward with Reba’s new television drama Red Blooded, according to Deadline. But while the show’s pilot won’t see the light of day on ABC, there are still rumors that the series is being shopped around to different networks such as Lifetime or CMT. In the show, Reba was set to play a small-town Kentucky sheriff who finds her views challenged when a young FBI agent of Middle Eastern descent comes to town to help with an investigation.

Luke Combs “Hurricane” Storms The Top of The Charts
Luke Combs’ single “Hurricane” has hit the top of country charts this week, giving Combs his first career #1 song. After reaching the chart’s summit in only 24 weeks on Mediabase and 30 weeks on Billboard, Combs also becomes the fastest debut artist to earn a #1 at Country radio since 2015. This news comes as Luke prepares for the release of his debut studio album, This One’s For You, on June 2.
- Combs found out that “Hurricane” had gone #1 while he was performing at BMI’s Songwriters Festival in Key West, Florida, over the weekend. Luke says the annual festival made for the perfect setting to receive the momentous news. He says, “It’s surreal to celebrate my first #1 down here at the BMI Songwriter’s Festival surrounded by my very own songwriting heroes and friends. Songs carried me here and today is a wild dream come true.”
2nd Teen Charged With Murder in Davenport Boy’s Slaying
DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — Authorities have arrested a second teen suspected in the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy in Davenport.
The 16-year-old boy is charged with murder and robbery in Friday’s slaying of 17-year-old Akeim Hill. Another 17-year-old boy was arrested Saturday and also is charged with murder and robbery. The Associated Press generally doesn’t name juveniles accused of crimes.
Police say the two boys met Hill in a parking lot just before noon Friday. A fight broke out, and Hill was shot twice. He was pronounced dead later at a hospital.
Chris Young Releases New Single “Losing Sleep”
Chris Young has dropped his brand-new single, “Losing Sleep,” giving fans their first glimpse into his forthcoming seventh album due later this year. Young co-wrote the song with Josh Hoge and Chris DeStefano and it marks the third time he has co-produced with Corey Crowder. The song also follows the success of three back-to-back #1’s from Young’s I’m Comin’ Over album, which he says pushed him even harder in the studio this time around.

On this day in 1999, Keifer Thompson and Shawna McIlwain got married in Nashville. The couple ultimately becomes country duo Thompson Square.
Thompson and McIlwain have released two albums as Thompson square, which together produced two #1 hit songs. “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not” the duo’s first number one single on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and has been Certified Double Platinum, while “If I Didn’t Have You” hit #1 on the Billboard US Country Airplay chart and is Certified Gold by the RIAA.
They welcomed their first child, Rigney Cooper Thompson on January 24, 2016.

Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren have finally welcomed their adopted daughter home from Africa. The couple shared the happy news on social media Friday (5/12), revealing that the precious girl’s name is Willa Gray Akins. Thomas and Lauren brought Willa Gray home from Uganda, where the couple has been making frequent trips to over the last year to visit her. The exciting day comes as the expectant couple is also waiting for Willa Gray’s little sister to arrive in early August.

We have been in this adoption process for what seems like forever and are just so filled with joy that we are all finally home together! Florida Georgia Line is Searching for Look-Alikes
Florida Georgia Line is searching for look-alikes to appear in their next music video. The duo’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley have put out a nationwide casting call for doubles who can match their signature look circa 2012, which will be featured in an upcoming flashback video. To try out, would-be doppelgangers can visit the special casting website and submit photos and/or videos to prove they’re twin material.
Near Misses at Last Chance Meet
Naperville, Ill.–The William Penn track and field teams came up a bit shy of adding any more national qualifiers as the Statesmen competed at the Dr. Keeler Invitational hosted by North Central Thursday and Friday.
Discus qualifier Derek Robinson (Jr., Jenks, Okla., Communications) had a pair of top-10 efforts, including placing fifth in the discus at 155-10 and seventh in the hammer at 164-10. Robinson fell short of adding the hammer to his qualifying list by just 10 inches.
Three-time qualifier (discus, hammer, shot put) Derek Seddon (Sr., Knoxville, Iowa, Physical Education) used the meet more as a final practice session, finishing third in the discus at 168-0.
Vashti Nwagbaraocha (So., Milwaukee, Wis., Exercise Science) tied for sixth in the women’s high jump at 5-2.5, missing the qualifying height by 2.5 inches.
Like Seddon, Tristen Elmore (Fr., Ovied, Fla., Physical Education) was also in practice mode, ending up 12th in the 100-meter dash in 10.96 seconds.

Iowa Man Gets 15 Years in Shooting of 9-Year-Old Boy
WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — A Waterloo man has been imprisoned for his role in a December shooting that injured a 9-year-old boy.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (http://bit.ly/2qngKnD ) that a judge sent 22-year-old Mar’yo Lindsey Jr. to prison Friday for 15 years. He’d been convicted in March of intimidation with a weapons, willful injury and related weapons charges. An accomplice is being prosecuted separately.
Police say young Anton Kincaid was sitting on a couch Dec. 15, watching television with his family, when bullets ripped through a window and wall of the Waterloo home. One of the rounds hit him in the buttocks.
Authorities say the intended target likely was a relative of the boy’s mother. The relative had been at the house earlier that day but wasn’t there when the shooting began.
Shania Twain’s New Song Featured in Winter Olympics Ad
NBC is getting fans ready for the 2018 Winter Olympics with a new promo featuring Shania Twain’s song “Life’s About to Get Good.” The new clip runs for one minute and features several U.S. Olympians, including snowboarder Shaun White and skier Lindsey Vonn, in action. The promo can be seen here.
· “Life’s About to Get Good” will hit airwaves this June as the lead single from Shania’s first album in 15 years, which drops in September.
