Granger Smith is Seeing Gold

Granger Smith’s chart-topping single, “Backroad Song,” has been certified Gold by the RIAA, signifying sales of 500,000 copies. Smith received the honor in front of record crowds at his recent Riverfront Stage performance at CMA Fest in Nashville, which made the news even more special for him. Granger says, “It has been a childhood dream of mine to achieve a national No. 1 song. Now, with this Gold certification, that dream has been amplified.”

  • And the celebrating continues this week, as Smith’s brand-new single, “Happens Like That,” is this most added song on Mediabase with 59 first week stations.

Granger Smith Penned New Single With Tyler Hubbard

Granger Smith has announced the release of his new single “Happens Like That,” a song which he co-wrote with Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard while the two were on the “Dig Your Roots Tour.” Granger tells Billboard that he and Tyler penned the song while they sat on a tour bus in a Tacoma, Washington, parking lot and watched fans file into the show. “Happens Like That” will be available on May 19 and will impact radio on June 12.

  • Smith says, “Writing on tour, in the heart of all our fans, where ultimately the songs will be delivered, is a game changer for me. We can literally look out the window of the bus and write songs about the town where we are parked.”
  • Granger and Tyler’s fellow co-writers on the song are Jordan Schmidt, Justin Wilson, and Andy Albert.

·         The remainder of Smith’s 2016 tour has been canceled, but he fully intends to make up those missed dates for fans.

·         Granger said in a message to his fans, “I’ve had so many emails and tweets. It’s pretty amazing that so many people have reached out from across the country.
