The Glen Campbell Museum opened last week in Nashville, featuring a while host of Glen memorabilia. And while Glen’s wife Kim says it was hard to say goodbye to his stuff, she’s happy because now “everyone gets to see them.”

“I’ve had all this memorabilia in my house for 35 years,” Kim tells “People.” “The clothes were hanging in our closet. I always made a special place for the GRAMMYs.” She adds, “When I looked at my walls with all the gold records, I thought, they’re going to be gone. Glen’s gone … They’re going to be gone.”

In addition to memorabilia and artifacts, the 4,000-square-foot space on Lower Broadway also features videos, music and interactive displays. It even features Glen’s first ever guitar, which his father purchased for Glen when he was four for just $5. The museum also has a stage where singer, songwriters and more can perform.

And while it may have been hard to part with all of Glen’s stuff, Kim says the process of going through everything was healing for her. “I started going through all the memorabilia and realizing what an impact Glen had on so many lives,” she said. “It started bringing me some comfort and bringing some purpose out of the horrible time we’d just gone through.”
