New Charlie Daniels Duets Album Coming Next Month

A new album from the late Charlie Daniels is set for release next month. “Charlie Daniels & Friends – Duets” will be released July 16th through Walmart only, and it will feature the legendary performer collaborating with 19 artists on some of his iconic songs and other tunes.

Guests on the record include Dolly Parton, Brooks & Dunn, Darius Rucker, Travis Tritt, Vince Gill, Brad Paisley, Garth Brooks,Brenda Lee, Gretchen Wilson, Marty Stuart, Keith Urban and more.

“It goes without saying that it’s been a rough year for my mom and I, our CDB family and dad’s fans,” Daniels’ son, Charlie Daniels Jr., shares. “But his music will live on forever, and we’re happy that this Duets collection will add to his legacy.”

Today in 1941, Gene Autry records “You Are My Sunshine” at the CBS Studios in Hollywood
Today in 1977, “Lucille” by Kenny Rogers peaked at #5 on the pop singles chart and topped the U.K. singles chart.
Today in 1993, Aaron Tippin’s hit single, “Working Man’s PhD,” entered the country charts.
Today in 1994, Neal McCoy scored his second #1 hit with the single, “Wink.”
Today in 1996, Marty Stuart released his album, “Honky Tonkin’s What I Do Best.”
Today in 1997, Ty Herndon’s album, “Livin’ In A Moment,” was certified gold.
Today in 1997, CMA Entertainers of the Year, Brooks & Dunn, played a special show for their fan club at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. In keeping with tradition, both Kix and Ronnie stuck around to meet and sign autographs for attendees — even though there were over 2,000 of them. In typical fashion, the guys weren’t content with stopping until they’d taken care of everyone there. They started signing at 9 pm and wrapped things up at 5 am the following morning.
Today in 1998, a memorial for former Oak Ridge Boy Steve Sanders was held at the McKendree United Methodist Church in Nashville. Sanders had taken his own life a week earlier at his home in Cape Coral, Florida.

This week’s H & S Feed & Country Store Pet of the Week is “Elvis”, a 7 year old Coonhound mix. He’s a pretty quiet fellow, but doesn’t get along with cats. He seems to get along ok with other dogs, he loves attention and would be great as a farm dog.

There’s some speculation that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have already tied the knot after she was spotted out wearing what looks to be a wedding band. But a new report suggests they are still looking forward to their big day, especially because they want to celebrate with family and friends.

“Ever since they got engaged, they have both been adamant that no wedding will happen until it’s safe for family and friends to attend,” a source shares, explaining that Gwen was initially upset that the pandemic put their wedding plans on hold, but they finally started making plans in the spring. The insider notes, “They are both ecstatic that it can finally happen. They are getting married this summer.”

And the event will certainly be a family affair, with the source noting, “Gwen’s boys will be very involved,” adding, “Blake is a great extra dad and very close with the boys.”

Today in 1983, Bill Monroe was a guest at the White House, along with Frank Sinatra, as president Ronald Reagan recognized Monroe as the only living American credited with originating an American music form.
Today in 1992, the album, “No Fences,” by Garth Brooks was certified for multi-platinum sales of 8-million.
Today in 1993, Johnny Cash began four days of recording in producer Rick Rubin’s living room in Los Angeles, backed only by his own guitar. It marked the start of work on Cash’s “American Recordings” album.
Today in 1997, Lonestar’s “Crazy Nights” album was released.
Today in 1997, Ricochet released “Blink of An Eye” and Lila McCann released her debut album, “Lila.”

Toby Keith Kicking Off Tour This Week

Toby Keith is ready to go back on the road. The singer is set to launch his “Country Comes to Town Tour,” this weekend

The 25-city tour, with special guests Colt Ford, Jackson Dean, Matt Stell, Clay Walker and more on select dates, kicks off June 20^th in Prescott, Arizona, wrapping December 3^rd in Estero, Florida, with more dates expected to be announced.

October 14th, Toby Keith will perform at the Xstream Arena in Coralville, Iowa.

Carrie Underwood Releasing DVD Of “My Savior” Ryman Show

Earlier this year Carrie Underwood headlined a special Easter concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, performing songs from her gospel album “My Savior.” Well, folks who couldn’t make it to Nashville, or didn’t catch the livestream, now have another chance to check it out.

Carrie is set to release her first-ever gospel live performance DVD, “My Savior: LIVE From The Ryman,” on July 23^rd. The special features gust appearances by Cece Winans and Bear Rinehart, frontman of the rock band, NEEDTOBREATHE.

In addition, on release day a TV special featuring performances from the DVD will air on PBS, DIRECTV, DISH TV, Circle TV and more, and it will be available on the Gaither TV YouTube Channel for a limited time.

Garth Brooks On Returning To Stadiums

Garth Brooks is ready to restart his Stadium Tour on July 10^th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, making him the first artist to return to stadiums at 100% capacity, and he hopes it will send a message to everyone.

“What I hope is the week after the shows, people go, “Hey look man, we mass-assembled and we sang and we had fun like it was 2019 — and we’re not worse off for it,’” he tells “Billboard,” adding, “for me, the most important thing is what happens after that in that city. Did everyone come out of it OK? And if so, then, thank you, God,” noting, “That’s what you’re hoping for more than anything.”

As for precautions that will be taken, Garth says, ”you do all you can do,” noting venues are hiring more ticket staff, and will be handing out masks to those who want one. “We’re all taking our steps toward recovery at our own pace and let’s all be family,” he says. “Let’s all have a good time, and let’s respect each individual’s way of how they’re handling this and coming out of it.”

And Garth is anticipating his first time back on stage is going to be a great night. “My voice is going to be gone after two songs. I think I’m just so excited, I’m going to wear myself out the first 10 minutes,” he says. I’m like a little kid. I just can’t wait to get back to the playground and hear those people sing.”

ONE MORE THING! Tickets went on sale over the weekend for Garth’s August 7^th show at Kansas City’s GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium and broke another record. Garth sold over 74,500 tickets in just one hour, a record for ticket sales for an entertainment show at the stadium.
