Shania Twain Doc ‘Not Just A Girl’ Heading To Netflix; With Companion Album

Shania Twain fans are getting the chance to learn a lot about her. A new documentary about the singer, “Not Just A Girl,” is set to premiere on Netflix Tuesday.

The film, directed by Joss Crowley, traces the singers career, and is described as “a definitive look at the making of one of the world’s most adored superstars and fashion-forward female pioneers in pop, country, and rock.” In addition to looking back at her life and career, it also gives fans a look at the recording of Shania’s forthcoming sixth record.

The film also features appearances by Kelsea Ballerini, Lionel Richie, Diplo, Avril Lavigne, and Orville Peck. A trailer for the doc features music clips, and archival footage, with audio of Shania talking about her husband’s cheating, losing her voice and more.

  • As a companion to the doc, Shania will release a compilation album “Not Just A Girl (The Highlights)”, which includes some of her biggest hits, as well as the bonus title track. It will be released digitally on Tuesday, and physically on September 2nd.  Check out the track list below.

Little Big Town Announces 10th Studio Album ‘Mr. Sun’

Little Big Town is dropping a new album. The band just announced that their 10th studio album, “Mr. Sun,” will be released September 16th.

The album will include previously released tracks “Hell Yeah,” and their current single, “All Summer,” with LBT dropping the new song “Rich Man,” written by Jimi Westbrook, on Friday.

“’Mr. Sun’ is intentionally an emotional record that holds hands well with our last album ‘Nightfall,’” LBT’s Karen Fairchild shares, adding it is “focused on better days ahead, the value of friendships and family; it touches on heartbreak and letting go, but it’s full of sunshine and joy.”

Philip Sweet adds, “We have collectively been through an unprecedented period making this album,” noting, “Life is short; we are here to live it with the ones around us, loving them and ourselves the best we can. All the while, thankful for another turn around the sun.”

Reba McEntire Wants A ‘Reba’ Reboot

Reba McEntire has been pretty busy lately, not only with music and a tour coming later this year, but also several acting projects, including a role on ABC’s “Big Sky” and a Lifetime movie “The Hammer.” But, in a new interview with “The Bobby Bones Show,” she says one project she’d love to add to her plate is a reboot of her hit comedy “Reba.”

“We’ve really been trying hard to do a reboot of the ‘Reba’ show,” she shares. “I really want to work with the people that I got to work with during that six and a half years,” referring to the sitcom’s 2001 to 2007 run.

She adds, “It was fun, the cast the crew everybody we got to work with and play with, they were wonderful people. We wanted to get back together like a reunion and have fun, so hopefully that will happen one day.”

  • Reba is also getting ready to open a restaurant, Reba’s Place, in  Atoka, Oklahoma, and she’s very hands on with the process. She says opening it’s a “dream come true,”noting,  “It’s not only a fun thing to get to do, but to check in and see how things are doing, or make scheduled stops,” adding, “I might get up on the stage and do a few songs. You never know what will happen.

Grand Ole Opry Announces Christmas Plans

The Grand Ole Opy has made their Christmas plans. For the second consecutive year, the Grand Ole Opry House will celebrate Opry Country Christmas, hosted by Larry Gatlin.

Set for November 26th to December 22nd, the holiday programming will feature special performances by Opry members Lauren Alaina on December 1st, and Chris Janson on December 11th, with Scotty McCreery also confirmed for December 18th.

The nine shows will each include Opry Members The Gatlin Brothers, Riders In The Sky, Mandy Barnett and Charlie McCoy, with the artists performing classic holiday tunes, as well as their own original songs. Click here for more info.

Luke Combs Is On A Wisconsin Lottery Scratch Off

Luke Combs may bring some luck, and money, to fans who live in Wisconsin. In case you missed it, the singer is featured on a new scratch off lottery ticket being sold in the state.

“Hey #WINsconsin, this is music to our ears,” the Wisconsin Lottery announced on Twitter. “Living Lucky with Luke Combs scratch game has $10,000 Instant Top Prize. Non-winning tickets can be entered into a bonus drawing for a chance to win 1 of 3 trips to an exclusive #LukeCombs concert in Nashville!”

Those who win the concert drawing, will get to see a private show with Luke at the Ryman Auditorium in 2024, including hotel accommodations, a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame and more.

“I’m truly honored for the opportunity to give my fans the chance to live out the song ‘When It Rains It Pours,’ and a shot at half a million dollars,” Luke shares, referring to his hit song which talks about winning a scratch off ticket. “Good luck to everyone.”
