WYNONNA KICKS OFF THE JUDDS FINAL TOUR, WITH HELP OF BRANDI CARLILE

Wynonna Kicks Off The Judds Final Tour, With Help Of Brandi Carlile

Wynonna kicked off what was supposed to be The Judds reunion tour Friday night in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with opening night featuring a guest appearance by Brandi Carlile.

Wy and Brandi teamed for such songs as “Rockin’ With The Rhythm of the Rain,” “Love is Alive,” “Let Me Tell You About Love,” “Guardian Angel,” ‘Born To Be Blue,” “Why Not Me,” and “Turn It Loose.” Why also performed “Mama He’s Crazy,” “”Grandpa, (Tell Me About The Good Old Days),” and more as well as several of her own solo tunes, and a cover of Foreigners’’ “I Want To Know What Love Is.”

And Wy’s late mother and singing partner Naomi Judd, was certainly very much part of the show. Before “Guardian Angel” there was a video tribute to Naomi. And during The Judds’ classic hit “Love Can Build A Bridge,” the video screen featured footage of Wy and her mom performing together. It ended with a clip of Naomi talking to Wy, ending with the poignant words, “I believe there is always hope.”

“Thank you, Mama, for writing this song,” Wy said. “I’ll continue to sing it for all the days of my life.”
