Trace Adkins’ new country music series “Monarch” debuts Sunday at 8 pm on Fox and in a new interview he says filming the show during COVID wasn’t exactly easy.
The series started shooting over a year ago, and he says in one instance he thought he may have killed his co-star Susan Sarandon, who plays his wife. While they took COVID tests Monday, Wednesday and Friday, they didn’t get results back until the next day, which was the source of the problem.
“Tuesday morning, the first thing I did that morning I was kissing Susan Sarandon,” Adkins said. “And I was kissing Susan Sarandon when they burst into the room and told me that I had COVID. I said, ‘Oh my God, I’ve killed Susan Sarandon.’”
But Trace notes, “She’s had like eight vaccinations, so she didn’t even get sick,” adding, “I got a little sick for a couple of days, but I oh my God, I feel so bad. I thought I’d killed Susan Sarandon.”
