Today in 2001: BlackHawk’s Van Stephenson passes away

Today in 2001, former BlackHawk member Van Stephenson died at his Nashville home at the age of 47 following a valiant fight against skin cancer.

Van also co-wrote several singles for other artists, such as Restless Heart.

Before joining BlackHawk, Stephenson scored on the Billboard charts with “Modern Day Delilah” peaking at No. 22, and a second hit, “What the Big Girls Do”, peaked at No. 45.
