This day in 2002, Faith Hill’s work was among the songs up in the Best Original Song category for the 74th annual Academy Awards. Her soaring ballad, “There You’ll Be,” which was written by Diane Warren for the “Pearl Harbor” soundtrack, joined tracks from Paul McCartney, Sting, Enya and Randy Newman in the category.
