March 14th: On This Day

On this day in 2006, Chris Stapleton’s Traveller album was sitting on top of the Billboard Country Album’s chart. The album received critical acclaim, reaching number one the US Billboard 200 chart and being Certified Double Platinum by the RIAA.

Traveller was named Album of the Year at the 2015 Country Music Association Awards, received a nomination at the 58th Grammy Awards for Album of the Year, and a win for Best Country Album. The song

At the 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards, it won Album of the Year, with the song “Nobody to Blame” also winning Song of the Year. Stapleton is the first artist to win album of the year, male vocalist of the year, and new artist of the year at the same award ceremony.

Chris Stapleton Up For Multiple Grammy’s

Just one month after he won a couple of CMA Awards in Nashville, Including Album Of The Year for his Traveller work, Chris Stapleton awoke to the news Monday morning (12/7) that he was a multiple Grammy Nominee for Best Country Album again for his Traveller Project, Best Country Song for “Traveller” and Best Country Solo Performance for “Traveller.” The Grammy’s will take place on February 15, 2016.

Chris Stapleton’s Traveller Hits #1

Chris Stapleton’s album Traveller has taken the #1 spot on the All-Genre Billboard 200 Albums Chart, selling roughly 140,000 copies last week. The surge in album sales came after Chris had a big night at the 49th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday (11/4), winning trophies in all three categories he was nominated in and giving one of the most talked-about performances of the night with pop star Justin Timberlake.
