On this day in 2006, Chris Stapleton’s Traveller album was sitting on top of the Billboard Country Album’s chart. The album received critical acclaim, reaching number one the US Billboard 200 chart and being Certified Double Platinum by the RIAA.

Just one month after he won a couple of CMA Awards in Nashville, Including Album Of The Year for his Traveller work, Chris Stapleton awoke to the news Monday morning (12/7) that he was a multiple Grammy Nominee for Best Country Album again for his Traveller Project, Best Country Song for “Traveller” and Best Country Solo Performance for “Traveller.” The Grammy’s will take place on February 15, 2016.

Chris Stapleton’s Traveller Hits #1

Chris Stapleton’s album Traveller has taken the #1 spot on the All-Genre Billboard 200 Albums Chart, selling roughly 140,000 copies last week. The surge in album sales came after Chris had a big night at the 49th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday (11/4), winning trophies in all three categories he was nominated in and giving one of the most talked-about performances of the night with pop star Justin Timberlake.
