It was made official early this week: Blake Shelton, who was previously announced to be leaving “The Voice” after Season 23 wraps, would be replaced by country legend Reba McEntire. In Monday’s episode, when the show returned from a commercial break, Carson Daly “realized” that Blake’s chair was occupied by Reba – and Blake was nowhere to be seen.
“Where’d Blake go? Who cares!” Carson said, bantering with Reba until Blake did eventually show up. “You mind? I still have a week left,” Blake said to Reba, but of course the whole thing was set up to promote the changing of the guards – Reba taking over the chair and the judge/coach slot from Blake when the show returns for Season 24.
