FAIRFIELD – An Ottumwa man was arrested in Fairfield Tuesday night after police say he admitted to possessing a methamphetamine pipe during a traffic stop.
According to the Fairfield Police Department, the traffic stop was initiated at around 7:41pm Tuesday night (7/7/26) after officers determined that the registered owner of a vehicle was operating with a suspended driver’s license.
During the stop, police say that the driver, 27-year-old Isaiah Oe Zenz of Ottumwa, admitted that there was a methamphetamine pipe inside his vehicle. While officers continued their investigation, Zenz allegedly attempted to destroy a large amount of narcotics inside the vehicle. Zenz was then removed from the vehicle and officers recovered the majority of the narcotics.
Zenz was arrested following this incident and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine (class B felony), Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp (class D felony), and Driving While Suspended (simple misdemeanor). He was transported to the Jefferson County Jail where he is being held on bond pending an initial court appearance.
