Newton’s TPI Composites shuts down due to coronavirus

A company in Newton that makes blades for wind turbines is shutting down because of a coronavirus outbreak.  TPI Composites confirmed Thursday (4/24) that 28 of its workers have tested positive for the virus. TPI says it will close the plant “until the middle of next week.”  During that time the plant will be deep cleaned and all employees will be tested for COVID-19.  TPI says it will pay all of its employees during the break.
