Miranda Lambert and her MuttNation Foundation did a lot to help animal shelters this Valentine’s Day, and so did her fans. The singer recently challenged fans to volunteer as part of her “Sign the Pledge to Volunteer” campaign, and her fans definitely came though.

Thousands of her fans volunteered their time at shelters, which allowed those shelters to be part of a drawing, with ten of them earning $1,000 grants. In addition, one fan, Andrea Shike of Wisconsin, won a grand prize of concert tickets and a meet-and-greet with Miranda.

“Shelter pets have the biggest hearts and I wanted to show them some extra love on Valentine’s Day,” Lambert shared. This year, over 2,000 MuttNation supporters joined the challenge, and I want to send out a huge ‘thank you’ to all of them.” She adds, “It’s amazing to have that kind of a response because shelters everywhere rely so heavily on support from their communities.”
