Keith Urban is one of the foremost guitarists in music; not just country music, but all music. He was a guest on the “Shred With Shifty” YouTube show with Foo Fighters‘ guitarist Chris Shiflett, and the two guitar aficionados talked…guitars, of course. They discussed Keith’s collection of vintage guitars, including one he is very proud of: a customized leather-bound Broadcaster owned by Waylon Jennings. Keith explained how he had wanted to bid on it in an online auction, but was crushed when he couldn’t figure out how…and it was snapped up by another buyer. As Keith tells it, “I was heartbroken because I had just imagined this amazing guitar is now gone, probably overseas somewhere…And then my wife walks in and goes, ‘I just got you Waylon Jennings’ guitar.'” Yes, Nicole Kidman was the high bidder, and she bought it as a surprise for her husband.
