He went from running from the law to being the law. During a visit to the Genesee County Jail on Michigan on Saturday, Jelly Roll was sworn in as a deputy sheriff. It’s a great testament to the ability to turn your life around; Jelly Roll struggled with drug addiction and has a felony conviction on his record, but he got his life in order and exploded into stardom. He was at the jail for a ribbon-cutting for a music studio at the jail meant to help rehabilitate inmates before performing at the Tailgate N’ Tallboys festival in Midland. And no, Jelly had no idea that was going to happen.
