Yet another big country music event being added to the calendar that country fans will want to put on their “must not miss” list: The Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff – a brand new event taking place in New Orleans on September 2.

The concept: kick off the college football season with a bang, and this event will definitely do that. While the Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff is occurring months before the Sugar Bowl itself, the Caesars Superdome hopes to make this an annual Labor Day weekend celebration that celebrates the start of college football. The event features a football-themed tailgate before the concert, and then the concert itself – and coming right out of the gate, the Kickoff will feature some of country music’s biggest names: Garth Brooks, Lainey Wilson and the legendary Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Lainey made the announcement on her Instagram account – telling fans that tickets go on sale July 21. Prices start at $98.95, including fees – a real bargain for such a star-studded, football centric party.
