FOUR SUSPECTS IDENTIFIED IN OSKALOOSA KWIK STAR ROBBERY

Four Suspects Identified in Oskaloosa Kwik Star Robbery

OSKALOOSA – Authorities have released the identities of the four suspects believed to be involved in the armed robbery of the Kwik Star in Oskaloosa on Tuesday.

The Oskaloosa Police Department reported that 26-year-old Cory Hale, 24-year-old Donavon Surrette, 19-year-old Eugene Hale, and 28-year-old Kayla Rupp, all of whom reside in Des Moines, were charged in the aftermath of the robbery investigation. 

Each individual faces a 1st Degree Robbery charge (Class B felony). Surrette, Cory Hale, and Eugene Hale each face an additional charge of 1st Degree Theft (Class C felony), while Rupp faces an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance: Marijuana – First Offense (serious misdemeanor). All four individuals are being held in the Mahaska County Jail without bond.

The Oskaloosa Police Department says that the investigation remains active, but extended thanks toward the numerous agencies who provided assistance during the response and investigation, including the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, Mahaska County 911 Communications Center, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Mahaska County Attorney’s Office, Mahaska County Emergency Management, Iowa State Patrol, New Sharon Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Wapello County Sheriff’s Office, Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office, Poweshiek County Emergency Management, Oskaloosa Fire Department, Mahaska Health Ambulance Service, Iowa DOT, and Mahaska County Secondary Roads. They also thanked the Oskaloosa community and residents of the surrounding area for their support, cooperation, and patience while law enforcement worked through the investigation.
