Merle Haggard fans are going to get to learn even more about him. A new biography, “THE HAG: The Life, Times, and Music of Merle Haggard” by Marc Elliot, comes out Tuesday.

The over 450 page book features info from more than 100 new interviews, including ones with country artists Dwight Yoakam and Marty Stuart, Haggard’s best friend Frank Mull, members of his band the Strangers and more.

According to the press release, the book delves into a aspects of Merle’s life, including the “self-created turmoil that expressed itself through drugs, women, booze, and betrayal,” as well as his five marriages, wealth, fame, poverty, and addiction.

Tim McGraw and wife Faith Hill currently star in the “Yellowstone” prequel “1883,” where they have to ride horses and steer wagons, and it sounds like it wasn’t easy filming.

“Being on the wagon was something that was really intense and really took a lot of work. And Faith (Hill) spends the most time drivin’ the wagon during the show, so she spent a lot of time doing that to where she’s pretty expert at it now,” Tim shares. “I mean, that’s a harder deal than people think it is to drive a wagon.”

And Tim’s time on his horse was a bit dangerous too. “Just about every scene I shot with my horse he was trying to throw me in the middle of the river.”

After days of teasing, Maren Morris finally released some new music. The singer just dropped the new tune “Circles Around This Town.”

In the song she sings of her journey to Nashville and struggles she had trying to make it, along with her perseverance to finally make it big. In fact she describes the tune on Insta as “My story in a song.”

She also dropped the video for the song, which kicks off with a TV announcer, the voice of Reba McEntire, talking directly to her and telling her to try her luck in Nashville. The clip sees her stuck at home wanting to escape to her better life, cut with scenes of her driving circles through a parking lot.

Lady A has officially chosen “What A Song Can Do” as their new single for the New Year.

“This song really does sum up where our hearts are right now and how much music can really pull us through in times of need,” they share. “We can’t wait for all the fun stuff we have planned surrounding this one.”

The song, written by the group’s Charles Kelley with Ryan Hurd, Sam Ellis and Laura Veltz, is the title track of their 2021 album.

Keith Urban will kick off his “The Speed Of Now” tour in June, and he’s reached out to some fans to help him craft the set list.

Keith shared video on his social media of him making a few calls to ask for advice on what he should sing.

“Working on the setlist for tour and decided to call a few friends for suggestions,” he captioned the clip. “there’s no one better out there to help than all of YOU ! drop a song (or ten) that you want to hear.”
