Shania Twain Says Dinner With Oprah Winfrey Turned Sour After Talk Of Religion

Shania Twain says there’s one subject she could not talk to Oprah Winfrey about. During an appearance on the “Table Manners with Jessie Ware and Lennie Ware” podcast, Shania says a dinner with Oprah took a turn when the subject of religion came up.

Shania says dining with Oprah was one of the “most memorable” dinners she had. “It was great to just sit and have real talks, but as soon as we started talking about religion, it all went sour,” she said, adding, “So, I said, ‘Let’s stop talking about religion.”

Shania says the problem was Oprah is “quite religions,” while Shania says she’s more “spiritual.”

“There was no room for debate, and I like to debate,” she said. “Canadians like to debate everything. So, I’m like, ‘Oh, OK. It’s time to change the subject.’”

  • ONE MORE THING! Shania appears topless for the artwork for her latest single “Waking Up Dreaming,” and the whole thing was her idea. “I styled that photograph myself. It was all about taking off the bra, taking off the shirt, tying the shirt around my waist,” she tells People. “This is a statement of being comfortable in my own skin and just being really myself.” As for anyone who may criticize the cover, she notes, “You have to be strong. I never really get angry with criticism. You can’t please everybody, that’s normal.”

Taylor Swift Turned Down Super Bowl Half-time Show

Taylor Swift fans were in a tizzy this weekend at speculation she would headline the 2023 Super Bowl half-time show, but it turns out their excitement may be for nothing.

The speculation began after it was announced that Apple Music was taking over from Pepsi as the new sponsor for the half-time show. Many Swifties felt this would pave the way for her to headline. Plus, with a new album, “Midnights,” coming out October 21st, and a possible tour for next year, fans felt it just made sense.

But if you believe TMZ sources, while Taylor was offered the half-time gig, she actually turned it down. According to the insider, Taylor was offered the gig months ago, but said no because she didn’t want to perform until she’s finished re-recording her first six albums, in order to regain control of them. So far she’s only released two, “Red” and “Fearlesss,” with “”Taylor Swift,” “Speak Now,” “1989,” and “Reputation” still to go.

The source does add that half-time producers are looking for a female pop star to headline next year, with TMZ now reporting that Rihanna is in talks to headline.

It depends on the [situation],” she explains. “I’m on the phone talking and all of a sudden I’ll just begin to weep. Then 10 minutes later, I’m making a dinner and I’m talking to my husband about our date night. Then my granddaughter comes and I cry some more.” She notes, “I cry a lot. That’s okay… It doesn’t mean it’s a sign of weakness.”
