Zach Bryan is an impressive individual. While many stars of his stature would take a different path to helping people out after disaster strikes (if they help out at all),  Zach decided to lend a hand – literally.

Zach was already in Omaha, Nebraska readying for two nights of shows when a line of storms hit the state, causing considerable devastation, especially in the small town of Elkhorn (in the western part of Omaha), that bore the brunt of the EF3 tornado. Instead of “thoughts and prayers” on social media, Zach felt a more “boots on the ground” approach was warranted.

Along with a photo of some of the destruction, Zach wrote on Instagram, “As an American and someone who lived in Omaha for some pretty formidable years of my life, I want to offer some honest prayers and hopes to the communities affected by the tornadoes that tore through them. The band and I are standing with you guys as we are playing some shows in Omaha. I am so sorry to anyone that is having to deal with picking up the pieces of their homes and their lives. Without taking credit from the thousands of people lending a hand who have roots here, we love you so much and we’ll do all we can to help.”

And help he did. While Zach didn’t post pics of his efforts, other people did, showing Zach getting his hands dirty along with the people of Elkhorn (and occasionally posing with someone who wanted a selfie). Zach Bryan – good guy.

The University of Tennessee is joining several other schools across the country in totally giving up on teaching our children, and instead offering a course on Taylor Swift.

The course is called Gender / Media (Taylor’s Version), and it launches in the fall.  It will give students a comprehensive understanding of Taylor’s impact on celebrity and career strategies.

The professor says, quote, “We’ll talk about Taylor Swift from every possible angle.”

Morgan Wallen knows a thing or two about bars: throwing things from them and ending up behind them, most recently. His “This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen” is set to open up in Nashville later this year, but Morgan’s already looking past that – reportedly readying a second location in Las Vegas. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Wallen is reportedly opening a restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip, which would presumably be another location of his “This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen.” The restaurant would occupy 10,000 square feet on the second and third floors of 63 Las Vegas, located at 3716 Las Vegas Blvd. South. A building permit filed for the space show the construction of a new “Vegas Country Music Restaurant,” and a permit has also been filed for the construction of an “ellipse rooftop balcony.” No word yet from Morgan’s people, but it appears his Vegas plans have been leaked.

Two weeks ago, Colt Ford suffered a heart attack after performing in Arizona. All we were told in the days after was that he was recovering, and that he was forced to cancel all his upcoming shows through the end of August. Now, we know more, from the man himself.

Yesterday, Colt updated fans on how he’s progressing after the incident. He also explained what exactly happened, and how close he was to dying.

Ford says that he was on his tour bus after the show, and that’s all he remembers until he woke up in a hospital bed surrounded by his fiancée and his son. He relays what he was told: that he collapsed, and was technically dead on his tour bus before being revived. He died again on the way to the hospital and was revived a second time. Eventually emergency surgery was done to put in three stents. And Colt believes he’s still here for a reason. “They brought me back, they saved my life. The Lord had more for me to do. I have more music to make, and hopefully some more differences to make in people’s life.”

For everyone that claims country music isn’t country music anymore, the defense calls to the stand Cody Johnson. In the country genre, in 2024, Cody is almost single-handedly keeping classic-sounding country and Texas swing music alive, while also keeping it contemporary. Case in point: Cody’s stellar rendition of the Willie Nelson/Waylon Jennings classic “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys,” recorded live at the 2023 ACM Awards, but officially released yesterday.
