Kari Schultz is a young girl with cerebral palsy. Morgan’s mother, Lesli Wallen, saw an article online about the young Morgan fan and decided to give her a big present. Lesli showed up at Kari’s school, and the television was on and playing Morgan’s video for “Thought You Should Know” when Kari walked in. “Wait – what’s going on?” Kari asked. At this point Lesli walked up to her, introduced herself, and let her know that she would be going to Morgan’s Charlotte, North Carolina show – and going backstage to meet the singer. To say Kari was excited by the news is something of an understatement.

Martina McBride is getting into the television talent contest biz. The singer has signed on to be a judge on a new reality competition series called “Second Chance Stage,” produced by Chip and Joanna Gaines on their Magnolia Network (formerly DIY Network). The show will feature singers, dancers, comedians and more showing off what they can do in front of a live audience and panel of judges. Alongside McBride, the other judges include actor Taye Diggs and “SNL” cast member Heidi Gardner. Former NFL player and sports broadcaster Emmanuel Acho will host the show. The entire series has already been filmed, and will premiere this fall.

A star-studded country tribute to Tom Petty was on the way next month. We’ve already heard Chris Stapleton, Dolly Parton and Dierks Bentley‘s contributions to the project, but if you can’t wait another month, another song from the collection has dropped. Wynonna and Lainey Wilson have teamed up for one of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ most iconic hits, “Refugee.” The full album comes out June 21;

Zac Brown filed for a temporary restraining order against his estranged wife Kelly Yazdi on Friday after she published a number of Instagram posts, including one seemingly accusing him of “narcissistic abuse.” Brown alleged that Yazdi is violating an employee and confidentiality agreement from August 2022. Yazdi posted on May 4 that a person only referred to as “he” instructed her not to “model anymore,” take photos off of her Instagram, only to wear certain clothing and not to “post anymore fitness videos.” “Projections. Gaslighting. Threatening. Stonewalling,” Yazdi wrote in the post. “Those are the ingredients of narcissistic abuse.” After filing for the restraining order, which would force Yazdi to delete the post, Brown said in a statement, “My only hope is for us to keep private matters private and to move forward with the mutual respect we had agreed to show one another when we parted ways.” The couple announced in December they were divorcing after just four months of marriage.
