On this day in 1989, Garth Brooks released his self-titled debut album. The record was both a critical and chart success, peaking at #13 on the Billboard 200 and #2 on the Top Country Albums.

The album produced four singles, including two No. 1’s with “The Dance” and “If Tomorrow Never Comes”.
