William Penn Wrestling Takes Hit In The Rankings

Oskaloosa–The Statesmen wrestling team took a hit in the rankings with only four individuals being rated regionally as the NAIA’s fourth top-20 poll was released Wednesday.

Heavyweight Matthew Cuthbert (Fr., Yucaipa, Calif., Sociology) is guiding the navy and gold by being ranked fourth, while 141-pounderBryan Pittman (Sr., Flossmoor, Ill., Information Technology) is next in fifth.

125-pounder John Altieri (Fr., Warwick, R.I., Sociology) and 174-pounder Tyler Foubert (Fr., Gibson, Iowa, Business Management) are both sixth at their respective weights.

As a team, the Statesmen are eighth out of nine teams in the Central Qualifying Group with 45 points; Grand View is first with 225 points. Nationally, Grand View is #1 with 180.5 points, while Montana State-Northern (90.5), Oklahoma City (82), Indiana Tech (80.5), and Missouri Valley (76.5) round out the top five.
