Two top ten finishes for Oskaloosa Thursday (4/25) at the Drake Relays.  The Indians’ Sophia Dykstra was sixth in the discus with a throw of 132 feet, 3 inches, and Faith DeRonde was ninth with a throw of 128 feet, 7 inches.  Dykstra is a sophomore and DeRonde a freshman, and they were the only two from their respective grades to reach the discus finals.

More Oskaloosa athletes will be competing Friday and Saturday  (4/26 & 27) at the Drake Relays.  Senior Casey Hill will be part of two relay teams and he’ll also compete in the discus.  Hill says being part of the Drake Relays is special.

“Any time you get to step foot on the blue oval is a special thing.  And especially when you’re in the top half of all classes in the state and being able to compete with all of them is even better.”
