THURSDAY STAYS QUIET, RAIN AND WIND IN STORE FOR THE WEEKEND

Thursday stays quiet, rain and wind in store for the weekend

Thursday will be dry and sunny with highs well into the 20s for most areas. Points along and south of I-80 could see temperatures into the low 30s.  More precipitation is in store for the weekend.  Rain is likely to break out late Friday night.  It could start out as freezing rain until temperatures rise.  The rain is expected to continue Saturday with potential fog.  The rain will likely transition to snow.  Most areas could see up to half an inch of rain.

Snow amounts are still tough to call at this distance.  It seems to err on the lower side for snow is probably the way to go given the transition and speed of the system.  Whether rain or snow falls, there will be tremendous wind following the system.  Gusts to 50mph or more are likely later Saturday night into Sunday morning.
