On this day in 2001, Garth Brooks recorded the song “Beer Run” with George Jones. The song was off of his eighth studio album Scarecrow, as well as on Jones’s 2001 album The Rock: Stone Cold Country 2001. The song hit #24 on the charts.

On this day in 2002, Billboard Magazine released its list of the Top Country Albums of the year. Alan Jackson’s Drive placed third, Garth Brooks’ Scarecrow came in second and The O Brother, Where Are Thou? Soundtrack landed at number one.

August 21st: On This Day

On this day in 2002, Garth Brooks’ CD Scarecrow was certified Triple Platinum. The album was released in November of 2001 and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 Chart, and the Top Country Albums Chart.  Scarecrow was the last Album by Brooks before his thirteen-year hiatus.
