A Dream Come True – Chris Janson

Chris Janson realized a lifelong dream recently when he got to see his stuff on display at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville. Janson was at the Hall of Fame to get a personal tour of the ACM Gallery exhibit, which contains an entire case filled with items from his life and career. Some of the artifacts on display include his signature Fender harmonica, his first #1 plaque and a vintage Yamaha guitar signed by Merle Haggard, which Chris used while writing all of the songs for his debut album, Buy Me A Boat.

· Janson says, “Being part of this exhibit is a top three musical achievement of my career. It’s right up there with playing on the Grand Ole Opry and having my songs played on country radio.”

· Other artists featured in the ACM Gallery exhibit include Luke Bryan, Cole Swindell, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini and Chris Stapleton.

Dierks Bentley Pays Tribute To Merle Haggard

Dierks Bentley paid tribute to Merle Haggard at the CMT Music Awards calling him the backbone of country. He then gave him a toast saying, “Merle Haggard, thanks for singing your stories, they were rough, honest, gritty and lonesome, and most importantly they were real. So raise a glass or raise a guitar, whatever you got near, to Merle Haggard, Ya’ll.”

May 20th: On This Day

On this day in 2014, CBS aired “ACM Presents: An All-Star Salute To The Troops” with George Strait, Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Toby Keith, Lee Brice, Dierks Bentley and Merle Haggard.  The ACM would later announce that a $650,000 contribution to ACM Lifting Lives, was made on behalf of the artists who participated in the taping.
