Congressman Dave Loebsack Vists for Monday, April 2

Congressman Dave Loebsack, serving Iowa’s Second Congressional District, will be visiting Newton, Knoxville and Sigourney on Monday, April 2. He will be in Newton at 12:30 PM at the Trinity Structural Towers Inc. He will then be at the Red Rock Hydropower Dam in Knoxville for a tour at 2:15 PM. Afterwards, he’ll be off to Sigourney for a ride along with the Sigourney Police Department and Chief Allan Glandon. The driving tour will be at 4:15 PM.

Candidate Filing Period Concludes, Final List Posted Today

(DES MOINES, Iowa) – The candidate filing period for state and federal offices in the June 5, 2018 primary election concluded at 5 PM on Friday, March 16. An updated list of candidates whose papers have been received and accepted is available on Iowa Secretary of State’s website, or by clicking here.

Three candidates whose paperwork was submitted on Friday has not been processed yet. Iowa Third District congressional candidate Theresa Greenfield, Democrat, withdrew her initial petition signatures and submitted new ones just before the filing deadline. First District congressional candidate Courtney Rowe, Democrat, submitted her papers Friday afternoon and they are still in the review process. Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron Corbett submitted his papers about an hour before the deadline on Friday afternoon. The Secretary of State’s staff will review the paperwork of all three candidates today to determine if they will be accepted.

No candidate has qualified for the ballot at this point. The deadline to file an official challenge to any candidate’s nomination papers is Friday, March 23, at 5 PM.

Filing Period Now Underway For Legislative, Statewide, Federal Candidates

(Iowa, USA) – The candidate filing period for state and federal offices in the June 5, 2018 primary election began on Monday, February 26. It runs through Friday, March 16. Candidates can file their nominating petitions and affidavits of candidacy with the Office of Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate, either in the Capitol Building or in the Lucas Office Building.

An updated list of candidates whose papers have been received and accepted will be published to the Iowa Secretary of States’ website at the end of each day, and will also be updated periodically. That page is available here and will also be accessible from the home page of the Secretary of State’s website, https://sos.iowa.gov/.
