Des Moines Man Pleads Guilty to Firearms Offenses

(Des Moines, Iowa) – On February 22, David Marken Aikoriegie, of Des Moines, appeared in federal court and pleaded guilty to charges related to a series of gun store burglaries in the Des Moines area, announced United States Attorney Marc Krickbaum.

Aikoriegie pleaded guilty to three counts of stealing a firearm from a federal firearm licensee and one count of unlawful possession, receipt, and sale of a stolen firearm. Aikoriegie admitted he stole three firearms from JLM Gun Shoppe in Urbandale on November 16, 2017; ten firearms from Rangemasters in Clive on December 2, 2017; and eleven firearms from Rangemasters on December 14, 2017. He also admitted to selling one of those stolen firearms to another person on December 16, 2017. A sentencing date has not been scheduled at this time.

This investigation was conducted by the Clive Police Department; United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF); Des Moines Police Department; and Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement. The case is being prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.

 

2018 Survivor Babylon in Clive

(Clive, IA)—It’s big, back and better than ever!

That’s right! Survivor Babylon 2018 will take place at Faith Lutheran Church, 10395 University Avenue, Clive, Iowa with two performances on Saturday, February 10 at 3:30 and 5 p.m. and Sunday, February 11 at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. A free-will offering will be taken.

Over 60 kids, from the first through the sixth grades will be performing a Biblically-based musical by Dave Noel and Jay Rouse told with creativity and humor about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and their encounter with Babylon’s famous King Nebuchadnezzar (and his even more famous fiery furnace!). Complete with pop, rap and African musical styles, Survival Babylon 2018 seeks to show children the importance of obeying God instead of men and like the Hebrew children, they can take positive, faith-filled action to conquer their fears and their foes!

Faith Lutheran Church is on the west side of the Des Moines area. To get there, take Interstate-235 to the Valley West Drive exit (1B). Go north on Valley West Drive to University Avenue then go west. Go west on University Avenue beyond the At Home department store. Faith Lutheran Church is on the north side of University Avenue by the Clive water tower.
