Skydiver Crashes into Field in Rural Knoxville

KNOXVILLE – A skydiver is in critical condition after crashing into a field in rural Knoxville on Saturday.

The Knoxville Fire Department reported that they, along with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Knoxville Police Department, were dispatched to a field between Highway 14 and 130th Street on Saturday morning at around 11:22 AM.

When crews arrived, they began to search through timber and standing corn for the skydiver. Eventually, first responders located the skydiver on foot and began providing care while others worked to make access for a UTV to get to the area where the skydiver was located. The skydiver was loaded onto the UTV soon after and transported to an ambulance on Highway 14.

The skydiver was transported to a Des Moines Trauma Center via a Mercy AirMed helicopter and was reported to be in critical condition.
