Iowa US Senator Joni Ernst was in Pella Tuesday afternoon (4/6). She toured the hydroelectric power plant at Lake Red Rock in Pella. During her visit, Ernst spoke with reporters about infrastructure legislation making its way through Congress. She said the definition of infrastructure was being stretched.
“They are proposing different child care initiatives. That’s not part of infrastructure. I am a believer in child care. This is one of the areas I’ve worked on. It should not be debated with roads, bridges, broadband: things that we typically think of as infrastructure.”
Ernst was in Corning, Centerville and Pella Tuesday as part of her annual 99 County tour through Iowa.
