Ottumwa School Board Hears Updates on Student Apprentice Program, ELLs, Key Financial Indicators

The Ottumwa Community School Board met on Monday and heard an update on their new Student Apprentice Program as well as an update on the use of Timekettle Earbuds, an instant translation tool, for English Language Learners.

The Board also heard an update on the state of the district’s key financial indicators, with Chief Financial Officer John Berg revealing that the general fund balance for 2022 sits at a little over $12.5 million, and that the district’s enrollment has now reached over 5,000 students, growing by over 200 in the past year for the first time in 24 years of enrollment data available.

The Ottumwa Community School Board will next meet on October 24.
