The Oskaloosa Indians made the trip to Norwalk on Tuesday night to test themselves against the #1 ranked team in the state in class 4A, but fell to the Warriors in a 3-0 sweep.
Norwalk was a well-oiled machine for the entire match. In the first set, they were dialed in from start to finish, taking a 1-0 lead with ease as they won 25-6. The second set was more hotly contested for a period, as the Indians found themselves down 10-9 less than midway through, but the Warriors once again found a different gear, finishing strong to win 25-14. The third and final set was another dominant showing by Norwalk: they shot out to a 22-7 lead before Oskaloosa, in a heartening display of grit and perseverance, battled to the very end and tallied 6 of the final 9 points of the match. However, Norwalk ultimately took the third set by a score of 25-13.
Next up: Oskaloosa (7-12) will face yet another highly-ranked squad next Tuesday when they host (5A) #2 Dallas Center-Grimes.
