Osky Indians Track & Field Update

Oskaloosa Boys Track & Field

The Oskaloosa boys were back in town Thursday night traveling to Newton for a loaded last chance meet trying to get things settled to qualify for the Drake Relays next weekend. Osky had 25 new PR bests on the night and 1 season best relay in the Sprint Medley composed of Jaden VanRoekel, Shane Hoven, Casey Hill, and Brayden VanKampen.

Carter Huyser led all Indians with a new season best and possible Drake qualifying 800 time of 1:58.96. Oskaloosa continues to focus on beating their previous best marks and are now off until next Tuesday when they travel to Carlisle.


Oskaloosa Girls Track & Field

The Oskaloosa girls ran in to some tough competition in their last meet. With 15 teams in the field and 6 4A school finishing ahead of them, there were some great competitors.

Top finishers were: 3rd for Emma Kelderman in the 400 hurdles, 4th place finishes for Kelderman in the high jump and the Distance Medley Relay (Allen, Wiltse, Kelderman & Coon)

Three personal records were set: Sierra Worthington in the Shot Put, Anniston McDougall in the 3000 m run with a 22 second PR and Marleigh Denburger in the 100 m dash.The waiting game is now on for Drake Relays qualification.

The girls will be back in action next week with meets at Grinnell on Tuesday and Pella on Thursday.
