OSKALOOSA GIRLS BASKETBALL WON LAST NIGHT AND THE BOYS TAKE A LOSS

Oskaloosa girls basketball won last night and the boys take a loss

Oskaloosa’s boys’ basketball team saw its seven game winning streak come to an end Tuesday night (12/18) in Norwalk.  Norwalk opened the game with a 24-9 run and went on to a 58-46 victory, knocking off the top-ranked team in Class 3A in the process.  Guard Bowen Born had 29 points to lead the Warriors, with 14 of those in the first quarter.  Xavier Foster had 18 points to lead Oskaloosa.  The 7-1 Indians host tenth-ranked Pella Friday night (12/21).

For the first time in a long time, Oskaloosa’s girls’ basketball team is on a winning streak.  The Indians beat Norwalk in overtime Tuesday 41-36.  Lindsay Holmberg made two free throws with nine seconds to play to force the overtime.  Then Kaylee Johnson and Amanda Fay scored four points apiece in the overtime to give Oskaloosa back to back wins and a 2-7 record.  Fay had 12 points to lead the Indians, who will host Pella Friday night.
