OSKALOOSA BASEBALL STRUGGLES IN LOSS TO #2 PELLA

Oskaloosa Baseball Struggles in Loss to #2 Pella

The Osky baseball team entered Pella with a 10-1 record and had a shot to create a three-way tie at the top of the conference. But the second ranked Little Dutch had other ideas. Pella would score three runs early in the first, taking advantage of a couple of Oskaloosa defensive mistakes. The Indians were in the hole to a team that has yet to allow more than two runs in any game this year. Junior starting pitcher Grant Judkins for the Little Dutch struck out 11 and only allowed four baserunners in a dominant six-inning outing. The Little Dutch would end the game with a five-run sixth to reach the run-rule at 10-0 to move to 12-0 on the year.

The Indians are still in good shape in third in the conference, sitting at 10-2 overall, and will have a great opportunity to bounce back against a good squad on Friday. They travel to Knoxville for a varsity doubleheader. Knoxville is ranked #6 this week in the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association top ten rankings in Class 3A. The Panthers lost in Oskaloosa 8-4 earlier this year, and are eyeing revenge against their former conference mate.

We will have that broadcast for you on Friday on the Mahaska Zone Network, 99.5 FM and AM 740 KMZN and on kboeradio.com. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 PM, and our pregame will begin around 5:15.
