OSKALOOSA APARTMENT BUILDING DAMAGED IN FIRE

Oskaloosa apartment building damaged in fire

Fire damaged an Oskaloosa apartment building.  Oskaloosa firefighters were called to the Santa Clara Apartments on Santa Clara Street around 4:45 Saturday afternoon (6/20).  The first reports said an air conditioning unit had caught fire, but when crews arrived, there was heavy fire on the first and second floors of the building.  It took just over four hours to put out the fire.  One apartment was destroyed, while another has smoke and water damage.  The other three apartments in the building can’t be lived in because there’s no electricity to the building.  No one was injured in the blaze.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
